A colourful, flexible sealant for neat and durable floor edge finishing

Product description

AltroMastic 100 is the perfect, easy way to finish your installation to a professional standard and prevent moisture getting under your floor.

We offer one of the largest mastic colour ranges on the market. AltroMastic 100 is available to match or coordinate with our entire vinyl range, so you don’t have to compromise on the aesthetics of your space.

AltroMastic 100 is ideal for use in areas where your Altro flooring abuts edges, skirtings, wall surfaces etc, to form a seal between your floor and the edge. It’s easy and fast to use with a standard mastic gun.

Once used, not only will your installation look neater, but you will also be able to enjoy the other benefits that our mastics deliver. AltroMastic 100 is waterproof and lets you create a watertight system right up to the edge of your space. This sealed floor makes cleaning easier, letting you clean up to the floor edge and preventing any moisture from your cleaning getting under the flooring and causing damp issues.

Please remember, AltroMastic 100 does not replace the use of hot welded joints in your flooring installation, but is intended for use around perimeters, where hot welding is not feasible.

FAQs

Where do I use AltroMastic 100?

Use AltroMastic 100 to seal joints in Altro flooring where obstructions prevent the use of a hot air welding gun. This could be where Altro flooring abuts edges, skirtings and wall surfaces or where the flooring is cut around pipes, door frames etc.

Where flooring abuts drainage channels, access covers, quarry tiles etc, use a clamping or welding system.

How do I use AltroMastic 100?

Make sure all surfaces you are sealing are dry and free from dirt, oil or grease. Mask all areas you wish to seal with the masking tape supplied. Place the tube of sealant into the skeleton gun. Cut off the end of the tube nipple, fix the nozzle, squeeze the trigger gently and apply a bead approximately 3mm in diameter. For best results, try and apply with a steady flow. You may wish to smooth out the sealant once you’ve finished, for enhanced aesthetics; if you do, try using a slightly damp cloth so the mastic doesn’t stick.

Once opened the curing process begins, therefore, do not reuse open tubes as the mastic may have cured within the tube.

Remove all masking tape as soon as possible as AltroMastic 100 is formulated to be fast curing.

To use it all you need is a standard mastic gun, available from most flooring wholesalers.
